Starting his career in 1992 at the North Sea Jazz Festival in The Hague, Jeroen Mourik produced Gigs for Kids: a jazz concert for children. For several years thereafter Jeroen organised Doe Dans Festival: a biennial weekend event in which participants take classes from professional folk dancers from around the world; the 2,000 attendees were mainly families and the event included a wide children's programme, together with numerous performances by the children developed during the festival. In '99 his career focused again on children, when he produced an International Clowns Festival, with more than 100 professional clowns, for a Dutch hospital foundation in Utrecht. Until 2004 Mourik was the Director of Kaleidoscope, The Aberdeen International Children's Festival in Scotland. Once a professional dancer and actor, Jeroen also visits schools and arts centres as an artist in residence: creating together with children a dance or theatre piece. ![]() Do you need someone to devise your artistic programme?
